West Ham United have had multiple offers rejected by OGC Nice for 24-year-old French international defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, West Ham United have now failed with their third offer to sign OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo. The Hammers reportedly offered Nayef Aguerd in a deal to sign the Frenchman as well.

It seems that OGC Nice are not interested in such offers, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. West Ham need to bring in a quality central defender, and Todibo would have been a quality acquisition. He has been heavily linked with the move to the Premier League in recent months.

Manchester United are reportedly keen on securing his signature, but they might not be able to complete the transfer because of the UEFA regulations prohibiting clubs under the same ownership to conduct transfers among themselves.

Todibo has proven himself in Ligue 1, and he is certainly good enough for the Premier League. The Frenchman could have been a quality acquisition for West Ham, and he would have helped them tighten up at the back.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite attractive for the French defender, and he will hope to secure transfer to a top club soon. While West Ham might not be a top priority for him, they could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities at a high level. If he manages to impress with the London club, he will be able to join top clubs in the future.

West Ham need a quality defender

West Ham have brought in a quality manager like Julen Lopetegui this summer, and he will be expected to guide them to European football next season. They will look to do well in the domestic competitions as well. West Ham will have to plug the weaknesses in their squad in order to do well and signing a quality defender will be a top priority for them.

The East London club have looked quite vulnerable defensively this past season, and Todibo could transform them if he joins the club. It will be interesting to see if West Ham decided to come forward with an improved offer for the 24-year-old defender after three rejections.
