Not helped by an awkward camera angle.
The U.S Men’s National Team went head-to-head with Uruguay for a must-win clash on home soil in Copa América, and there was plenty to discuss on and off the field.
As the pre-show for the match pushed on, it was noticeable to fans on social media that the turn out for the match was anything but desirable.
The clash was held at Arrowhead stadium in Kansas City, and was far from a sold out crowd. There were many empty seats spotted throughout the stadium.
X users were blowing up online about it. While some believe this was due to the high price of tickets, others claim it’s just a blatant lack of support for team USA.
The first quarter of the match even featured a strange (and far too high up) camera angle that seemed to isolate the pitch and keep the crowd off the screen.

Whether this was intentional or not remains to be seen — just like the spectators themselves!
The camera angle would eventually change to something a little easier on the eyes, potentially due to the relentless backlash online.
The match itself was a spicy one. A contentious yellow card from referee Kevin Ortega late in the first half was one of the larger talking points from the match.
NFL star JJ Watt had plenty to say about it online. “Ref is just making it up out there. What in the world was that?” he posted on X.
USMNT went down to Uruguay 1-0, courtesy of a 66th minute goal to Matias Vina. They have officially been knocked out of Copa América.
