Alvaro Morata has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan in the last few days, as the transfer appears to be one step away, and Atletico Madrid have got wind of this. The Spanish side are now expecting the exit, a report claims.
Morata has a €13m release clause in his contract, which Milan intend to trigger, and the latter thus just needs the striker’s go-ahead to complete the deal. The clause is also active for the entire summer, so there is no certain period in which it needs to be triggered.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Atletico Madrid have got wind of Milan’s negotiations with Morata and are now expecting the striker to leave. So much so that Randal Kolo Muani, who scored against Spain last night, has ended up at the top of their wish list.
If Kolo Muani were to leave PSG, then that could push the French side to make a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. The Partenopei, in turn, could accelerate their interest in Romelu Lukaku with Antonio Conte pushing for that move.
In other words, Morata’s move to Milan could spark a domino effect on the mercato. It remains to be seen if it will become reality.
