The irregularity of the collective
« It’s difficult to explain the reasons for our failure. I don’t think we all performed at the same times, we were too inconsistent. The series of positive results corresponds to the period when we were at our best collectively, with positive results and confidence built up. Without any logical explanation, that started to crumble a bit with the pivotal week of Strasbourg, Paris and Monaco. After that, when you’re inconsistent, it’s hard to catch up. It’s true that we’ve had two and a half good months, but that’s not enough to achieve our objectives. ».
Moving forward
« Everything is being done to put us in the best possible conditions. It’s up to us, the players, to learn from this season and analyse. Recover to start again better. Complicated or unsuccessful seasons can happen, but they can’t happen again. It’s only through consistency that we can achieve our goals. ».
Europe and SRFC
« We weren’t able to help the team achieve its objectives, so we’re obviously frustrated and disappointed. Stade Rennais F.C. deserves to be in Europe, and we need to move forward. ».
Don’t revolutionise everything
« We mustn’t call everything into question, revolutionise everything and only see the negative. This project has enabled the club to achieve its objectives and reach Europe on several occasions. I have every confidence in the sporting management to ensure that we return to a winning Stade Rennais F.C. at the top of the table. ».
Fans disappointed and present.
« When we see the reaction of the fans after Lens, we see people who love their club above all else. The disappointment is logical and we’re just as disappointed as they are. The players didn’t cheat and the fans saw that. These expressions of support show us that they are with us, and we thank them for that. The important thing is to see what we can do to get back to the top. ».
