Tue 16 July 2024 13:10, UK
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is demanding an annual wage of £10million as West Ham ready talks to sign him, according to Caught Offside.
The report [16 July] indicates that Galatasaray, who are also in the hunt, have laughed off this idea, as they push for a loan move as opposed to something more permanent.
This comes after suggestions that West Ham could face competition from up to three other Premier League sides for his signature [Manchester World, 3 July].
Will Scott McTominay sign for West Ham?
For the first time in four years, West Ham United will be kickstarting a season without European football. While that may throw some players off, the allure of East London could stem from new boss Julen Lopetegui.
Julen Lopetegui wants major reinforcements this summerThe fanbase will forever be grateful to David Moyes for what he achieved at the club. However, Lopetegui already seems to be making quite an impact. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers gaffer has been active in the market and he’s looking at the kind of players who could guide his side back to Europe.
Plus, this is a team that thrives off of goalscoring midfielders.
Mohammed Kudus, Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse scored 22 league goals between them in the 2023/24 campaign and while that’s some hefty competition, it should also serve as real motivation for the Scottish international.
If there’s some kind of promise regarding first-team football, there’s every reason to believe McTominay will entertain a change.
