Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid of £13million to sign Nikola Milenkovic, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League outfit are in advanced talks to purchase the central defender this summer, and hope to have the deal wrapped up this week.
The 26-year-old is under contract with Fiorentina until 2027 and has been with the Serie A side since 2017.
Milenkovic has been a regular in the team since then, playing 264 games for the club in all competitions.
However, Nottingham are not expected to slow down their transfer activity with the Serbia international.
According to sources, the club are already working to follow up on Milenkovic’s potential signing with striker and winger deals.
Nuno Espirito Santo is in the market for a new centre-forward and a winger ahead of his first full season in charge of the east Midlands club.
Nottingham Forest need to bolster their attacking options
Improving the attacking options at the City Ground is a key focus for the club this summer after a difficult season in front of goal in the 2023-24 campaign.
Only three teams scored fewer goals than Santo’s men, and two of those were relegated to the Championship.
Football Insider reported that Nottingham have registered their interest in former Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who could fill that gap.

The former Chelsea winger scored eight goals last season, but Football Insider have reported that Tottenham are interested in him.
