Milan Sets Sights on Fofana After Securing Morata – Closing the Gap with Monaco

Mediaset: Milan turn attention to Fofana after Morata signing – gap to close with Monaco – Sempre Milan

AC Milan will soon be focussing intently on the signing of Youssouf Fofana now that a deal has been reached with Alvaro Morata.

As reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are still very serious about signing Fofana from Monaco and securing Morata means that more time and effort can be put into finding a deal with Monaco.

The French midfielder wants to move to Milan and already has an agreement with the club on personal terms, but Milan have so far bid beneath the €25m asking price.

The belief is that if Milan were to add around €4-5m to their bid, then Monaco would accept and another position that needs addressing in the market can be ticked off of the list.

The hope is that by signing Fofana, Milan will have a midfielder who can effectively screen the back four and offer them more protection than they had last season.

Paulo Fonseca started his first training sessions as the Milan boss by focusing on defensive drills and Fofana is certainly the kind of player he would love to have present in those sessions.

Having secured a striker like Morata for €13m, Milan may think it is worth giving Monaco what they want to get Fofana.
