France star considers QUITTING internationals at just 28 after treatment at Euro 2024
Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman spent much of France’s run to the Euro 2024 semi-finals on the bench, appearing for just 15 minutes in the group stage and being overlooked by Didier Deschamps

Kingsley Coman is contemplating QUITTING France after being snubbed at Euro 2024 by Didier Deschamps.
The Bayern Munich winger, 28, is a World Cup and European Cup winner and has been a key part of Deschamps’ squad for nine years. But he was barely used at the finals in Germany, despite Kylian Mbappe’s broken nose, Antoine Griezmann’s loss of form and Ousmane Dembele’s inconsistency.
Coman played just over 15 minutes at the finals – in Les Bleus’ second group game, the goalless draw with Netherlands – and cut an increasingly frustrated figure as the tournament progressed, even seeing young PSG winger Bradley Barcola usurp him in the pecking order.
Now he is considering ending his international career, following the announcement that Deschamps will be remaining in place and leading France to the 2026 World Cup.
Coman, who has scored eight goals in 57 games for his country, had struggled for fitness towards the end of Bayern’s disappointing Bundesliga campaign, with a hamstring injury. But he proved his fitness in the build up to the tournament and was duly selected.
But according to L’Equipe, he has been ‘scarred’ by the finals and being consistently overlooked.
If Coman does indeed call time on his international career, there will be few tears in Bavaria. Bayern bosses will be delighted that the winger, scorer of their 2020 Champions League final winner, will no longer be involved in internationals and will be getting more time off to rest and recuperate.
Coman played just half of Bayern’s Bundesliga games last term and only managed 27 appearances in all competitions due to his injury issues. And knee and hamstring troubles have been a consistent theme during his career. He has missed 107 Bundesliga games since initially joining Bayern from Juventus in 2015.
