English Championship side Burnley recently secured promotion back up to the English Premier League after beating Middlesbrough 2-1 away on April 7th at the Riverside Stadium.
They only spent one season down in the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League the previous season. The question being asked here is, what will Burnley need to do in the upcoming transfer window to survive the 2023/24 Premier League campaign? Find out more right here.
Will Burnley make any new signings?
Burnley will need to shore up their entire team to ensure survival in the 2023/24 Premier League season by bringing in several new signings to strengthen the defence, midfield, and attack, but who are they likely to bring in during the summer transfer window?
Some of the most likely candidates that have recently been linked with a potential move to the Championship winning side are the following players. However, this is all just pure speculation.
They include:
Charles De Ketelaere from AC Milan
Nathan Tella from Southampton
Duk from Aberdeen
Kieran Tierney from Arsenal
Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund
Max Johnston from Motherwell
Reiss Nelson from Arsenal
Other likely candidates that could also join newly promoted Premier League side Burnley this year are Antione Semenyo from Bristol City, Ryan Kent from Rangers, Emil Holm from Spezia Calcio, and Ewan Otoo from Celtic, to name a few.
We will just have to wait and see what happens over the coming months.
Where can I bet on the remaining Championship or Premier League games?
There are still a handful of games to go in the English Championship and Premier League. If you’re looking to place a wager on any of these remaining games, one of the most trusted UK online bookmakers you can turn to for the most competitive odds is the official 32red sports betting site.
Burnley have already been promoted, so you won’t find any more outright odds for them. However, you can still bet on ‘season finishing position’ betting markets for other teams like Sheffield United, Millwall, West Bromwich Albion, Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City, Norwich City, Sunderland, and Preston North End, to name a few.
Can I bet on Burnley’s remaining fixtures?
Yes. You can also still place bets on Burnley’s remaining fixtures. On Saturday, April 22nd, they are at home to Queens Park Rangers (QPR). On Tuesday, April 25th, they travel away to play Blackburn Rovers.
On April 29th, they travel away to play Bristol City, and then on May 8th, which is their final game of the season, they host Cardiff City at home.
If you were to place a wager on the Burnley V QPR match on Saturday 22nd, you would be looking at the following odds:
Champions Burnley are currently priced 4/11 in the UK fractional odds format to win this match outright. In other words, they are the odds-on favourite team to win with a whopping 73.30% implied probability rate.
When converted into the American/moneyline odds and standard European decimal odds formats, 4/1 is the same as saying -275, or 1.36, respectively.
Therefore, if you were to place a $/€/£50.00 wager (or equivalent currency value) right now with these odds and Burnley go on to win the match tomorrow, you would be looking at a total return of $/€/£68.18 (which includes your initial $/€/£50.00 stake returned and only an $/€/£18.18 profit).
In comparison, QPR are priced at around 7/1 to win this match (which is 700 in American/moneyline odds and 8.00 in decimal odds), with only a 12.50% chance of winning.
In other words, if a QPR fan was to place a $/€/£50.00 bet right now with these odds, and QPR win, the total returns would be $/€/£400 (including the initial $/€/£50.00 stake returned + $/€/£350.00 profit).
